Peanut Butter Kisses
1 cp solid vegetable shortening
1 cp creamy peanut butter
1 cp granulated sugar
1 cp firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 cps all-pupose flour
1 tsp baking soda

1 package (13 ounces) chocolate drops

Preheat oven to 325 F
In large bowl, cream shortening and peanut butter until light and fluffy.
Add sugars; mix well.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing until smooth.
Add vanilla.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt.
Add to shortening mixture; mix well.

Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet about 1 1/2 inches apart.
With index finger, make a depression about 1/2-inch deep in the center of each ball.

Bake 10-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Remove from oven and immediately place 1 chocolate candy on each cookie.
Remove from pan to cooling grid; cool completely.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
